Introduction
This Archiving Policy outlines the procedures for preserving and safeguarding the digital and physical copies of "Al-Zumar Research Journal" (the Journal) for long-term access and future reference. The policy aims to ensure the integrity, authenticity, and accessibility of the Journal's content for researchers, scholars, and the general public.
Scope
This policy applies to all published content of the Journal, including:
- Peer-reviewed research articles
- Reviews
- Editorials
- Letters to the editor
- Supplementary materials
- Multimedia content
Archiving Formats
The Journal will be archived in both digital and physical formats:
- Digital format:
- All published content will be archived in a secure, institutional repository using a well-established preservation format, such as Portable Document Format (PDF/A) or tagged Extensible Markup Language (XML).
- Metadata, including author information, keywords, and abstracts, will be preserved alongside the content.
- The repository will be regularly backed up and disaster recovery procedures will be implemented.
- Physical format:
- A bound print copy of each issue will be deposited in the library of the publisher and other designated libraries.
- These copies will be stored in a climate-controlled environment with appropriate security measures.
Archiving Schedule
- Digital copies of each published article will be deposited in the institutional repository immediately upon publication.
- Bound print copies of each issue will be deposited in libraries within one year of publication.
Access
- Digital copies of the Journal will be made available online through the institutional repository and other open access platforms, where applicable.
- Print copies deposited in libraries will be accessible to the public according to the library's policies.
Review and Revision
This Archiving Policy will be reviewed and revised periodically to ensure it remains aligned with best practices and technological advancements in digital preservation.
